Strat VG- this does have something to do with the tele.

Well fender just came out w/ the strat vg out for about 1600 dollars. well, i think this is a really cool guitar. it has rowland tech pickups that make the sound of a tele, acoustic, humbucker, and classic strat. the tele setting is really good too. it has many tuning settings too. they create settings such as drop d, e and normal.
has anyon played or owned one? if so, how do u like them?

Just purchased a beautiful Sunburst VG strat last week so I am still in the 'novice' stage with the guitar. Plays great and the extra sounds are great! Over-priced?? Yes, but I got mine used for a lot less than retail which made my decision easy! Does it sound like a tele? Very close but it's not a tele.......don't fool yourself! It is a strat so it does sound like a strat. I have used Roland's VG system for many years so these simulated sounds are familiar and I like them. Very convenient guitar for the gigging player. The purists will not like it but it does have it's place in the guitar world. Playability makes it a much better buy than the cheapo Variax thing!

I have always said, want to play a Tele, buy a tele. I have given the VG a spin at the local GC. Interesting axe, it sure has versitility. This is the perfect for the guitarist that needs one axe to bring to a gig or tour. I believe that andy summer is using one on the police tour.
