Strat-Talk or TDPRI Strat Discussion Forum?

OK...I love Strats as well as Teles, so I'm always looking at stuff on the 'net about Strats. The TDPRI Strat forum is probably where I go as much as anywhere on this site; there's always some interesting threads, cool projects etc. It seems odd though that there's more Strat talk on this site than on Strat-Talk, which is supposed to be the Strat equivalent of TDPRI (or is there another one?). I haven't signed up yet on Strat-Talk, probably because whenever I go there it seems like the Marie Celeste compared to this site. Why is that, when Strats are more ubiquitous than Teles?

$5 word of the day!!
ubiquitous = existing or being everywhere, esp. at the same time; omnipresent:

+1

I'm building a Strat from parts and have found TDPRI to be the best resource. Not a lot going on at Strat-Talk, as far as I can tell...

For me anything I want to say or know about strats is to be found here, so why head off somewhere else.

I was a Tele palyer first, and this is also the best place for info & help on Fender kit.

When I got back into guitar playing after a long hiatus a few years ago, I went shopping for a good Strat and came home with a great Tele. I wound up buying several Teles and still looking for the right Strat, so I came to consider myself a Tele man. But something clicked over a year ago, and I have gone over to the Strat side ever since. I have visited the Strat-Talk forum many times. I also wish it was more active, or that this forum was more active for Strats in the way that the TDPRI page is for Teles.

I am a member of about 10-12 forums that use this same software being legally blind I know where all the buttons are and can navagate this software easily. Strat Talk was frankly just too hard for me to navagate. Its no where near as user friendly as this vBulletin software is.

I never go to Strat-Talk. Life is good on TDPRI, and importantly more is learned from cross talk amongst guitarists than in a one axe ghetto.

Seems like there's more Strat discussion here than on the other site. I tried it early on, but it never really caught on. I think the Gibson version of the TDPRI also has a smallish readership.

I'd never even heard of strat-talk. I do occasionally visit FDP which is dominated by strat folk:

http://www.fenderforum.com/forum.html

Still, it is hard to beat the community we have all created here on the tdpri!

+1 and Tazzboy. There's quite a bit of Strat discussion on FDP but this site beats FDP hands down for atmosphere, friendliness, humour and functionality.

I play Strats, and like making modifications. I stick with forums like this, where I can get useful information. Many Strat forums are full of people asking, "What color Strat should I get?"

I may have looked at strat talk once or twice, but didn't see much activity. Last week a friend posted some information there about a guitar I am rebuilding. We were hopeing to get some information on a Squire Stratocaster. He posted on May 29. At this time ther has been no replies. I decided to post the same information here. I have already recieved a reply. I am convinced that this forum has what it takes.

I just signed up for Strat Talk. I posted the same question here and at Strat Talk. Within the first day day I had ten replies here vs. two at Strat Talk.

strat-talk doesn't get enough traffic. and i used to be on the fender forum, but got kicked off for some inexplicable reason. but i get enough dialoge on this good forum and don't need fender forum.
