My Sweet EJ on Ebay

Just read the forum rules and they said it was Ok to place one tasteful word about an Ebay guitar on the forum. Here it goes.

Selling my 2006 white blond EJ Strat in great condition. Just a little "relic" wear between the 4th and 11th frets to add to the vintage vibe, (the lacquer has rubbed off some there). Of the 3 I played the day of purchase this one sounded best, they were all amazing to be honest!

If your gassing for an EJ check it out. Mature Christian musician selling a great guitar at a significant savings over new. It's under jakereads.

Thanks!

I don't get the relic part. Did you sand the neck/board or is it worn from playing?

Could you put in an eBay link to your sale?
I don't know how to search on Ebay seller names.

EJ Update

To answer the question about the neck,

The neck has been carefully and gently rubbed with the finest grain steel wool to remove some of the factory stickiness of the lacquer. If you have played a new EJ they are almost unplayable because of the stickiness of the lacquer; by the way this is the single greatest negative comment about this guitar if you read all the harmony central reviews. Combine light rubbing with fine grade steel wool with a lot of playing and some of the neck (between the 4th and 11th frets) is beginning to show the natural relicing process we all love on those old Fenders with the lacquer necks.

Mind you this is all very subtle at this point. Check out the pictures, hardly noticeable. It does make the neck much quicker and less sticky. A very good thing in my opinion. A great guitar to be sure.

Also, tried to post the link but today they are doing some work on the site which may not allow you to access the link. If the link does not work just go to Ebay.com and place Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster in your search. All the EJ Strats will come up along with parts etc...You will see my guitar about a third of the way down (White Blond standing in front of a Blackface Deluxe Reverb Reissue) you can't miss it. The name of the seller is jakereads.

I'd like to know how come all the guitars on Ebay are the best sounding versions of the breed that the owner has had? It seems like a curse when all the killer axes end up being sold off.

Why do we sell?

Good question GTO,

Why do people who claim to have great guitars sell them? The answer for some is they need the money. They over spend on credit or whatever, bills come do and you know the rest. For others buying and selling stuff is just a fun way to pass time. We have known people who are always buying and selling something. The guitar community is full of these people. Other people sell because they go through phases, Strat phase, Tele phase, Les Paul phase, Acoustic phase, Jazz phase, Classical phase. They buy the appropriate guitar for that style, go through the phase and then sell. Others, are not guitar players and they just buy guitars for who knows what reason. They get sick of them and sell them.

For me the only other guitar I have ever sold was a 1974 Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversery. I sold it when I was stupid proud 20 year old kid. That was just an ignorant decision of youth. Every kid makes a couple of those.

But the EJ is a different matter. I learned on an American Strat with a 9 and a half radius neck and that is what I am most comfortable with. I could not get used to the EJ neck. That is the sole purpose of selling. It is a great looking, sounding and playing guitar.

Good question GTO. Hopefully I will not regret my decision to sell as the prices will continue to go up as time goes by.
