Tone control for bridge PU
Hello,
I want the tone pot for the middle pickup on my stock MIJ Strat to affect the bridge pickup instead. Does anyone have a schematic on how to do that? Thanks in advance for any help.

Literally just move the wire coming from the middle tone pot, to the unused tab on the switch next to where it's soldered. On this schamtic. THe red wire from the tone pot moves over one to the right that's unused. That's it! http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com/wi..._schematic.pdf

The Eric Johnson Strat is wired with tone controls on the neck and bridge pickups.

The EJ setup makes a lot of sense to me because I use the tone control for the neck PU (when I'm trying to be a jazz wanna-be) but never the middle. It seems that using that control for the bridge PU will aid in "taming the shrew".

The Lonestar uses a superswitch - best thing to do is to move the wire for the 2nd tone control from the "middle" lug of the switch to the "bridge" one as shown in the EJ Strat schematic.

What i did was wiring the outer pickups as if it was a telecaster, with volume and tone, and then the middle pick up with the second tone as volume. that way i have mor interesting sounds, boyh outer pickups, three pickups, and total tone control. what i donīt have is middle pickup alone, but i really donīt miss it hope this is helpful javi |

The two tone controls to affect bridge and neck pickups is much better than stock. However, I find I prefer a master tone control myself. I use an EMG SPC (Strat Presence Control) as my second tone pot. It adds a lot more variation.
Cheers, Bob

Just another option, get the Deaf-Eddie Fat-O-Caster pot. It gives you a tone control for all positions and also gives you 10 different tones instead of 5. I think it is the best mod you can do to a Strat. I love the neck/bridge tone.
