Anson Funderburg??
Anson Funderburg
OK, I keep seeing this person's name in postings. Can somebody give me the rundown on this guy? (..Like his genre and/or style, sideman, headliner, country/state of origin, bio-type info). Especially, are there any .mp3s out there? Which songs are his hallmark? Apparently he's special; I don't wanna miss out!! Call me Perplexed in Pennsylvania! Brett

Anson is from Texas I believe. He plays with the great Sam Myers on harp. He's one the cleanest blues players around. I never thought his recordings come close to capturing what a phenominal player he is live. Believe me he & Sam can burn the house down. Get busy makin plans, pack you bags.

Never heard him live, but I sure enjoy the CD's! Very tasty, economical player. Great tone & touch.

Anson Funderburgh is The Man
Not only is he The Best player IMB (In my Book),
But like BB King and SRV, Anson is the nicest, most Humble Cat I ever met. He can Burn, Cruise, and emote as well as anyone, Dig his stock 57 Strat, and He like an ES5. Anson uses one of my Guitars when I see him on the West Coast, and likes em, or he wouldn't play them most of the night. He really dug my Gold Strat w 2 P94s. Check out Sins for a Great Anson Cd. (actually He can't make a bad cd, He is too good! currently using a Maz 38 2x12, after using Tweeds, early and then a 63/64 Super Reverb for decades. IMHO KBR |

The Rockets Tour Sched...
Wow—
Them guys do some touring. I am going to have to buy some CD's, me thinks. Sounds like Funderburgh is not one for playing notes for the sake of dexterity—I am interested. I gotta hear this guy...I got spoiled on John Hammond, Jr., and Bonnie, later SRV. Tough acts to follow.
