Finally found a great Strat!
I bought a 62 reissue (1988) Mary Kay Strat which is basically pretty beat finish wise and has been played, used- looks like a relic even though it's not a real 62... I bought it because it has larger frets (don't like standard Fender frets) and it just looked like it had a vibe..well the guitar is the first strat I've had where I've been satisfied with the sound. Even the bridge pickup has sharp but not scratchy tone and the middle and neck sound like a strat should to me. My 70's reissue I sold just didn't sound like this. I've always been a Tele guy but this guitar will get some use. I'll have to post some pics soon. The gold parts with the beat up finish are a great look. :)

it's a stock 62 reissue Mary Kay -refretted
it's a stock Mary Kay reissue with stock pickups-refretted with jumbo frets. the fretboard was also leveled a little bit when refretted because it's a little flatter than a 7.5" radius. I checked the neck to make sure it wasn't a parts guitar and the neck checks out as described in my Strat book. the guitar has been played to death and I like that.
