Fender Showmaster

I was wondering people's opinions' on the Fender Showmaster.

Myself, I think they are somewhat interesting. I think mainly they are an attempt by Fender to attract some younger players, as the showmaster has more modern tendencies than the typical fender, such as the flame maple or quilted maple tops and 24 frets.

I'd probably buy on of these before I'd buy a strat because I do think they look rather nice (and I don't usually like flame maple or quilted maple), they have more frets than a strat, and most of them don't cost a lot of money. (But its much more likely I'd buy several more teles before then )
