I bought a no name Chinese Strat for a friend's son last Christmas - cost me £40 or about $70. Clearly it wasn't a Strat - much lighter body, some of the parts - especially the bridge were a bit rough. I spent about an hour messing with the action and the intonation and it played and still plays surprisingly well.
I am not tempted to swap with him, but for a teenager who doesn't know whether he really wants to learn to play or not, it was well worth the money. Just had another look at their site, and they don't do them any more, but I have seen similar instruments in a number of music stores here in the UK. Denis |
