Vintage noiseless installed in a MIM Strat

This may well have been asked before, but...

I'm installing a set of VN pickups in my '96 MIM Strat. The schematic that came with them was awful. After reviewing as much info as I could on the web, and visiting Fender's website, I'm still clueless as to what schematic is the correct one. The amount of different wiring combinations on that site is utterly bewildering.

I was recently told that the schematic to use is the same as the American Standard.

Sheesh, what a pain. Sorta wish I had left well enough alone. Can anyone tell me if it make any difference at all if I just wire them exactly like the original MIM's were?
Many thanks - Rich

To the best of my knowledge the Am Dlx Strat has VN's in it. Here is the wiring diagram straight from Fender.

Good luck. It's pretty straight forward if you've done this type of thing before. If not, be careful to notice the details.

Print out the diagram and then every time you make a connection, color that part of the diagram with a colored pencil. It will help you keep track of where you are if you haven't done this type of wiring before.

I'm a pro photographer that used to do all types of commercial work like the shot you see in my avatar. For the past 3 years I have been Staff Photographer for American Iron and RoadBike Magazines. No cowbuy stuff though. I did that shot in my avatar at Colt Firearms in Hartford CT a few years ago. The job included a bunch of shots in their "Custom Shop" and "The Room" where they keep one example of everything Colt has ever made. It was the equivelant to touring the Fender Custom Shop I guess. LOL! It was a fun job.
