I recently picked up an identical one, mint. Surprisingly good for an inexpensive axe. I was going to hotrod it right away but now I'm not so sure, maybe I'll wait.
It's a lot of guitar for the money. The pickups aren't fantastic but they're more than serviceable, I like the 2 point trem (compared to the 6 screw one on my other Strat), and the hardware is acceptable. Mike Bruce |

This is my Squier Strat, I painted it myself, it's the first one I painted and have since painted some of my friends and relatives as well.
Maybe I'll post some of my more recent paintings, although I don't own those ones. Last edited by BYUCougar0814; March 4th, 2009 at 06:11 PM. |

I'm not sure what you mean by that. There is a truss rod, truss me.

Wow mate, you have a very good eye! That is a Marlique Deluxe Tobacco Burst. Not a bad little guitar although the controls have gone to rubbish (going to replace them with CTS / Switchcraft soon) The neck is also very thin - I like baseball bats more than twigs :)

Best strat I've ever played, a 59 Thinskin, and I've played a bunch. Here it is when it had a white guard (whith my Nocaster and 58 VOS Les Paul):

Here's my #1:
![]() Highway One Body in Sunburst MIM 1995 Maple Neck with Wilkinson Kluson-alikes and a Graphtec string retainer EMG SAs with the controls wired Jimmy Vaughan style (Neck and Bridge tones) Vintage trem with 5 springs (natch) It's a very versatile guitar and the EMGs can be driven into very high gain very easily. |

![]() 1978 Hardtail Strat - owned since 1982 and used now for slide guitar. Made the mistake of respraying it in the early 90s as it looked tatty...yes I know now! ![]() 1991 Strat Plus, only neck, body and socket holder are orignal. The neck has been refretted too. Sperzel locking tuners, LSR roller nut (in place of bulky original), Dimarzio Area 58/58/61 pickups, Superswitch, 7-way switching (push pull on 1st tone), Fender Bridge plate, Callahan Block and Bar, KTS Titanium Saddles, 3-springs in trem (Tremsetter wore out). Neck joined with recessed bolts. Not a collectors piece but a working guitar hence all the mods. |

A very thin-necked ST68-TX (CIJ '68 reissue) we bought in Shibuya while in Tokyo last year. The only mod being a set of low-output Moollon VS-69s and an anodized guard made locally by Willows Guitar, it came nearly perfectly setup straight out of the Ishibashi shop and is a wonderful thing to play.
Namu gets in the way every time.

Here's my '64 Strat
![]() I picked this baby up in Calgary in 1980. I responded to an ad in a Pennysaver mag and the owner drove 30 miles into Cowtown to show it to me. When he opened the case, I thought it was a brand new guitar. So, we took the neck off and, sure enough, it was stamped "JLY 64". The guy was the original owner and he and a friend had each bought one in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in January, 1965 to start a band. Two weeks later, the drummer and bass player were killed in a car accident. He de-tuned the guitar, put it back in the case, stuck it in his closet and left it there for 15 years. It has been my main guitar ever since. |
