If cheap copies are allowed:

It actually sounds quite nice with the cheap stock pickups aswell, the top click on my soundclip shows the neck single:

hey, i'm totally new. i'm jon from albany, ga. lots of nice guitars on here. my guitar is an '01 Hardtail with dual humbuckers, totally stock. i came here to look up information on hwy 1 texas tele and regular hwy 1 differences, but don't have a tele, just a strat, and a dearmond m77t.

I love my blue tie dye because it doesn't look like a typical Strat with the typical pickup design, the wiring, or the color!

OK... Been posted before... But here it is again... My '82 Smith Stratocaster. All original except for a Callaham bridge and block. I've had this one since I was sixteen - and I'm keeping it!

Two of my family of 6 strats...........

2007 VG Strat Sunburst w/rosewood neck(sorry, just changed strings!)

1998 Squier Strat modded with Warmoth Maple neck and Copperhead Handwound pups, CTS 250K pots). This has truly turned into one of my favourite guitars; I have always loved that 'vanilla pudding' colour'. This was my $40 find that is a great playing guitar. The neck is awesome; 12" radius, compound C profile, MJ frets rolled edges.

Jimmie Vaughan

Thanks, Joe.

No doubt it is my prettiest strat guitar. As much as I love my poppin Comanches, the simple elegance of the Jimmie Vaughan is still my easy favorite, visually. Still can't remember why I passed up a twin to it mint used in Covina.

But thaus' 98 Squier is got that same pure vibe, and those sound like great mods.

I'm impressed with my new early 2006 sunburst Highway One, nice rosewood board and the overwound alnico 3s are not bad, but visually of all my current strats, even with all the polishing of the nitro, it comes tied for last with my red metalflake FSR MIM no pickguard model. The wine Highway One maple neck Tele same up much stronger visually. I think if I replace the neck with SMO-V and the pickguard with parchment single ply I'll be happier.

Here's a few of the Strats I currently have or have owned recently. The '63 has especially killer tone. It also has all the case goodies like hang tag, keys, spring, ashtray and so forth. The Nov '64 also has the major tone thing going and was very well worn neck that is just so comfortable to play. The '65 is a real sweet player too! but out of all of them, the '63 in the neck pickup position is what the Strat is legendary for and this one defines it.

'63 Strat - Oct neck date

'64 Strat - Jan neck date

'64 Strat - Nov neck date

'65 Strat - Apr neck date

Here's my '95 Mexi-Partsacaster

The neck came from one '95 Contemporary Strat (I think they were called Strat Specials in the US) and the body came from another one (the joys of Fleabay lol).

In the last few weeks, I've fitted a set of EMG SAs which give a very Gilmour look (I'm using standard tone controls rather than the active controls that Mr G. uses).

The neck is superb and I've fitted with a new set of chrome Wilkinson Kluson-a-likes and a Graphtec string retainer.

It does need a bit of clean tho! The pics don't do the body justice as it has a fantastic ash veneer underneath the "Crimsonburst"

I should also have a 60th anniversary artic white mim strat to post a picture of too, but unfortunately, the ebay seller I'm getting it from is apparently a slooooooow shipper.

Sunburst Highway One

This is one of the Highway Ones I grabbed for $ 388 plus tax.

I'm liking everything but the size of the headstock and mostly notably the frets.

Buy I'll keep is around for while, I've been known to see guitars through different eyes over time, as when I was young I liked the big headstock.
