Strat neck on ebay??
I'm cruising ebay looking for a mim neck and see this.
I know a little about 90's fender strats owned 2 of them and ths isnt a mim strat neck. Stamp says its a 96 but the serial # says its a 93 and also the tuners are wrong for that era. I'm wondering if this is like a 50's reissue neck from the 90's? Any knowledge is appreciated. Thank you much.

I thought a serial beginning "M" meant Mexico; as does "Made in Mexico", which is on the back of the headstock.
It looks genuine enough to me. For what it's worth, I took my 1996 Mex Tele apart recently, and found that the body is stamped November 1997. Perhaps it's better to take date stamps as a rough guideline only with these guitars and accept that they don't always offer an historically accurate representation? |

Serial number could be "MN54..." too -- the picture isn't very clear. Also, don't forget that there is time between the manufacture of a neck and the final inspection of the assembled guitar. It's not rare for it to span two years.
