'54/'55/'56 Strat in action in '56

Could be any of 'em but the show was done in '56 :

Guy's kind of a hack and the guitar/amp combo doesn't sound that great but - I stopped in for June Webb and found an old Strat too...

Cool-Strats were pretty "radical" back then. I heard a story once that when they first came out, some would ask if that was really a guitar.

That's funny, he's obviously a decent player, he just looks painfully awkward with the guitar. I wouldn't be surprised if he learned on a big archtop and was still getting used to the slim and trim lines of a Strat

I enjoyed that. The guitar player was a lot better than I was at his age.

Anyone know who the steel guitarist is?
Jimmy Day?
Sounds like him.

Thank you Mike Eskimo for posting this video. I like the sound of the Strat. It has a very nice clear sound. It would be interesting to know how the show was recorded. What strikes me about the video is song composition. I like how the guitar supplemented the songs. But I disliked how the songs had an over-rehearsed, rigid aspect to them.

Rather than over-rehearsed, maybe over-produced would be a better term

The whole show seemed a little stilted.

I'd like to get some more information without obligation. Could be a real great deal.

I believe the guitar player is Leo Jackson.

I dug it! Loved the strat and the cartoon. Real woody soundin' amp. All service boys in the band?

Yes that's a VERY young Leo Jackson. He was one of Jim Reeves Blue Boys. Certainly not a hack by any standards.

I dig the tone too. The way a Stratocaster should sound!
