mods or no mods "HELP"
I bought an american made 50th ann. strat about 6 months ago.
It is new and cost around $1000.00 . Don't know if I should keep it all origional for collectors in years to come or, mod it with some better pups and maybe a pickguard. thanks in advance for advice. BluesJammer

Well, you could build out a new pickguard to your liking and put the original one (intact) in storage ... for when the guitar becomes a "collector."
Then it would be easy to reinstall the original pickguard assembly if you wanted to. |

It's totally up to you...
but if it was up to me, and I felt like modifying the guitar, I'd keep the original parts.
Personally, I'd keep it as original as possible. |

It uses the same pickups the $3600 50th anniv Masterbuilt Strats use.
I wouldnt change the pickups or anything. If you want a different sounding Strat get a used MIM 50's-60's Classic or a nice used MIJ to do mods on.
