Show Us Your Strat Disapointment!

Went on www.Fender.com and saw that "show us your Strat" section. Found picture of acoustic guitar, teles & Les Pauls lined up with people's Strats...no name of the person submitting the picture, or any information about the strat. (is it stock /hot-rodded/the year???)

I decided to ad a "Strat of the Month" section to my site. I'm looking for just 1 picture of the guitar, (no collection shots) the name of the owner, and some interesting things about the guitar. I will post one a month!!!

Got anything cool looking, or a nice collectors piece??? send them to me!

Not that they're really bad, and I know Fender gets tons of submissions, but I just wish Fender could have taken the time to personalize the posts. Who is that in the picture? Who's strat is that?

Believe it or not, this a part-time thing for me!! My real gig is an academic advisor for the Art Institute of Philadelphia. My goal is to make this a full-time, full-blown, respected guitar specialty magazine.

The big companies have been really nice to me, sending me review items, but at the same time, the big companies feel I don't have enough hits yet to justify them throwing any money into me. (paid advertising)

I'm averaging about 5,000 hits a month and climbing. It may sound like a lot of hits, but to a D'Addario, a Jim Dunlop, or a Morley, I still have a lot of work ahead!

So I plug away...Keep my reviews honest, and do the very best that I can!!! I guess it will come in time!!!

suggestion...

Blackstrat,

first of all congrats on your cool website! I hope it works out the way you want it to happen.

May I suggest that you feaure a "Guitar of the Week" instead of 1 a month, if its not too much additional trouble for you. That way, we get more chances to get our No. 1's featured by you; and we check in more often to see if we get lucky; and you get more hits. :)

Thanks for providing the showcase and Good Luck!

Great idea vegetablejoe!!!

I think I'll change it.

The problem is that I posted the same letter on two other Fender related Forum besides this one and not one person sent me anything.

blackstrat, they may not be "real" Strats, but all my "children" are available for your use ...

http://rfd.cc/aa/strat.html

... you've constructed a real good tribute page to Strats ... my most fave, most versatile solid body g'tar ... arguably "the Stratovarius of electric g'tars".
