I didn't know they were available in that color, either. They made them in Dakota Red for a while, I know. I was wondering if that was actually the color of this one, but it sure looks like fiesta to me in that pic. I had a California tele in that color, so I am pretty familiar with it.
Very nice. Mike |

Hmm...so it's a standard color these days. I just picked up a Classic 60s strat a couple of months ago, and I like it a lot. I have been thinking of getting a 50s, too, so that may just be the color.
And here I was thinking I was done acquiring guitars for a while. Mike |

The 50's-60's Classic Teles and Strats for me are the best buys in the whole Fender lineup.
Less than 1/2 the price of the USA AV models which they replicate.

I can hear "Apache" just looking at that Strat! :P
Like Mark said, that's Hank Marvin all the way. Joel

I agree all the way, Mark, based on the 60s Classic strat I own and the 50s Classic strats and teles I have played. Huge bang for the buck.
I actually traded my original strat -- and my first electric -- a very nice '95 Am Standard strat, for an NOS 2000 Classic 60s, and I haven't looked back. The Am Std just wasn't getting any playing time, because I also have a '98 Lone Star that could do everything the Am Std could do only better, IMHO, because I preferred the Texas Special single coils and pearly gates humbucker. I wanted a rosewood board strat for variety and a Classic for a more traditional feel, and the 60s has delivered big-time. Mike |

Oh, I knew this thread was coming one day, Scotland! :D
as per your posts: A) You love your 50s style strat with them thin pickups... B) You love your MIM 50s tele... C) Fiesta red is the most popular strat color... ...and last but least: D) I've played a Fiesta Red strat (through a Pro Junior, amp tone control way down) in about 4 stores in the past two weeks. It's what got me back into strat now! I sank the pickups on my 1998 MIM Deluxe strat down and lifted the bridge a couple of millimeters, and even ventured to dig out the trem bar out of the shadows of the gig bag! I bet my Dan-Echo will get some use soon too...

Yep !!!
I want one with BOTH necks - there's something about Fiesta or Capri Orange with a Rosewood Board that's extremely appealing. How I wish they'd WAKE-UP and make a Rosewood with the "feel" of The MIM Classic 50's V-shape....

Yup, Hank Marvin all the way!
You U.K. guys and yer Fiesta Red Strats! 8) That said, we have had the Fiesta Red/tomato soup discussion here before haven't we? You never know "which" Fiesta Red you're going to get until the guitar is in front of you and how much light you have.

They have a new Fiesta Red 50s Classic in a local shop. I would more accurately describe the color as Salmon Pink. I'm glad I picked up my Dakota Red when I did.

I'm sure there is a thread or three on here about the 60's Strat. My GAS has been all over the place in the last few weeks. But spending a bit of time at the computer and visiting the stores certainly helps "channel" it some. I took your advice/opinion (at least I think it was yours, Mark) about the '57AVRI and started comparing it to others. The 60's Strat I found is just as appealing to me, price aside. Last night I ordered a '50s Esquire from MF, but I'll discuss more on that in the Tele section... The main reason I went for the Esquire over the 60's Strat was because I already knew I wanted a 50's Esquire in White Blonde and it was in stock, while they didn't have stock of the 60's Strat I wanted. I figured with the savings of the price savings of the 50's Esquire & 60's Strat, I would get the nice Fender Hard shell cases for them. I was going to order a regular tweed for the Esquire, but the Black Tweed really appealed to me. If I change my mind I can always put the 60's strat in Black Tweed case instead if I change my mind. This is the stock photo from M.F. of the Black Tweed case which is a real throwback to me, but I'm not sure exactly to which year it sets in... Were Black Tweed cases ever offered as Fender OEM supplied cases with any particular guitar(s)? Or is it simply a play on the look of the amp cosmetics? In other words, is it period correct to any time other than today's offering? As I far as I know all I have ever seen were the Tweed and Plain Black Hardcases, unless there were special cases made for certain guitars back in the day??? It's just something I'm more curious about than really trying to have something period correct.:

Since delivery was indicated to be on the 22nd, this time tomorrow night I should be able to get all the pics of the new Esquire and the black tweed case online. I don't think the stock photos do either of them justice, so I'll see if I can do any better... Can't wait to plug in the newt Esquire here at home. If it is anything close to the one I played at the store, than I'll be ecstatic.

For the photo you were trying to link, all you needed to do was right click the photo and then select properties and copy/paste the URL with the "Img" tags. If you don't have a a url for the photo itself, what you need to do is save the photo in one of your folders, then upload the image using a photo hosting service, followed by placing the phtot's URL in a message here and thenhighlight the url of the photo and click the "img" button above... Hope that helps...

Maybe someone more knowledgeable then me can answer, but it appears that webshots is framing your photo with html and your photo url is not a direct link to the photo, but the frame with the photo. Do I have that right (anyone)?

The only way another user could see the webshots pics is if they had the cookie generated by your name and password Rally.
If it works on your system Rally which it should thats why no one else can see it but you.
