Help me change the look of my Strat
Gonna put some new pickups in soon, maybe wire for bridge tone & install a better trem block in this old MIM.
Im kinda bored with the white scheme. What pickguard/pickup color/knob combinations would you consider?

Are you changing the body or just the scratchplate? If just the plate I'd vote for black with white knobs/pups. And the GFS trem block really made my MIM sound better, for about 1/5 the cost of the Callaham one.

Cream pickguard, knobs, etc. would look pretty sick IMO. I'll assume the fretboard is rosewood, a rosewood pickguard could look pretty cool. Would probably have to find some knobs of the same wood and get black or brown pickup covers to make that scheme work.

tortoise guard all the way!! Cream knobs and covers optional. I just changed the guard on my Inca Silver Road Worn from black to tortoise, and it really changed it for the better. I don't have any cream knobs and covers, but I may go that way.

Coincidentally, I was watching a video earlier today and was struck by the all-black pickguard/pickups/knobs/switch tip...

Decided to go all black.
I ordered a blackout kit from mojotone, (pickup covers, backplate, knobs, switch & trem arm tip). Along with a Fender replacement black pickguard. Will post a pic when I get it done. Some pickups and a GFS trem block might come later. |

That could turn out pretty cool or a nightmare bordering on pearloid proportions.. either way I bet you'd eventually get sick of looking at it, traditional black never goes out of style

It does if you don't like the looks of '70s Strats, and fast.
