Bought my son a used MIM Start ( good price too)yesterday for his grade 8 graduation.
But that is in about 12 days, so I have to hide it .
It is white with a rosewood board looks it has very little playing time.
Tried it through my amp this morning and it sounds great.
I think he is going to be very surprised.

That's a nice surprise. you ought to hide it underneath your bed, not very likely that he'll be looking there.

i say hide it in his closet. i know when i was i eighth grade i couldn't see the back wall of my closet and it was barely 2 feet deep

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team or some nuclear weapons but at the very least you need a beer. - FZ

Hide it in the bathroom, and put a box of tampons on it. He'll avoid it like the plague!

Well, I hid it for over 2 weeks and finally gave it to him last night. It was one of the few times he has been at a loss for words. I don't know what he expected but I am sure it was not a guitar.
His playing seems to have improved more than I knew in the last few months.

He loved it and is playing all the time.
Gave it to him just before we went away on a short holiday.We both took a guitar.
I have been it playing too. Also it is starting to change my mind about rosewood boards, I am a maple guy, Strat or Tele.
