Good color combo for a 70s strat?
I just picked up a 70s Reissue strat, White with a maple fretboard. Awesome strat, just what I've been after! It's an 04 so the white has gotten a little yellowy, not yngwie-level yellow but a little bit o' cream.
Right now it's stock with a slightly offwhite pickguard and white pickups/knobs ala Jimi/Curtis/Uli/Robin etc, but I also have black pickups/knobs, a black/w/b pickguard, and a mint pickguard. I'm thinking of mint with black pickups? Maybe stock is the best look? What say you? |

All black plastic would give it a late '70s look. So would a black pickguard with white knobs, pickguard and tremolo tip. I once even saw a mid-'70s Strat with all-black plastic except for white knobs, but that combination looked horrible in my opinion.
