please help, hum wont stop

so i got this squire bullet, and i am horrible at these things, but i changed the wiring, pickups, 5 way, pots and shielded it. i broke the nice fender 5 way so i am using a dragon fire switch and the 3 pots the guy at GC sold me would not fit in the cavity so now im going with one tone and one volume for 3 single coils. long story short....

the closer my hands get to the pickups the louder this hum gets and if i touch the pickup adjuster screws, or the metal shaft of the 5 way switch the guitar hums and also the volume pot is a bit scratchy when i turn it but that may be cause i dont have a plastic knob on it. didnt think about knobs when the guitar center guy sold me on the pots.

Is the ground at the trem claw in place?
It sounds like something isn't grounded properly.

If no one can help in this thread and you are in Frederick Md, there's a shop that can fix it for you on the spot.

"Scratchy pot when you turn it" makes me think the can is not grounded.

This is a strat so there must be a ground wire to each of the 3 pot cans, the switch mass and the trem claw, all leading to the jack ring.

The GC pots don't fit because it is probably routed for mini pots, and the GC are proper full size pots. This is easy to fix with a Dremel and a 12mm drill.

Pictures of your problem controls+wiring would help
