spent the weekend getting to know my new surf strat. the pu's are very responsive to small height adjustments. once i got things properly tweaked, she sounds great!

Totally love the color, I've been looking at these babies too. How do you find the lipstick pickups, gimicky or do they actually produce a nice sound? I have not seen many reviews of these at all (being new for 2012 and all). I'm torn in thinking between these either catching on and becoming a new classic, or just failing to sell at all.

you do have to spend some time tweaking the height, tho. |

adjusting the neck pu so it's closer to the low E & farther from the high E; bridge pu adjusted to the opposite extreme; middle pu fairly even. the effect of slight adjustments (maybe a quarter turn of the screwdriver) was greater than i had anticipated. -jim |
