"Lovell Custom" Strat Copy from Strings and Things?

Hi there,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. Recently I bought this guitar from Strings and Things in Memphis, TN. It says "Lovell Custom" on the headstock. They said it was one of their custom guitars that they made there and that it was somewhere between a Mexican strat and an American strat in terms of quality. The thing is I've never owned another strat before other than a really crummy squier, so I have little to compare it to, and was wondering if anyone's seen or played one of these before and could tell me if what they said was right. I haven't been able to find any info anywhere on the internet about these, or the teles they had, either.

Apparently Strings and Things used to make a line in the 80's called "St. Blues", and I can't find any info on them making their own custom guitars anymore, except the ones with the "St Blues" name made in Korea.

Here's a picture:

Any info on this would be awesome!

Thanks!

-P.s. I hope I posted this in the right forum, I'm new here.

I have the same Lovell Custom. I paid $120 brand new with the hardshell case.
I just wanted a low cost electric to toy with cause I mostly play acoustic. I bought mine from the Doo Wop Shop in Louisville, KY 4 or 5 years ago. Personally I love my Lovell. The action is nice and it has good tone. One day I will update the electronics but I like this guitar a bunch. They had an entire display of Lovell Guitars yet I couldn't find anything on the internet about the guitar. The manager of the shop told me it was a guitar maker out of Australia. At one point I did hear of a Lovell Guitar from down-under but I never could find much out. I wish he kept making guitars cause is has a classic nice look and was in readable affordable. All my friends with thousand dollar guitars are impressed with my Lovell and when I tell them what I paid their jaw hits the floor. Don't think I will get rid of this guitar. It's a keeper. I will keep it around and teach my two sons how to play on it. My next step in life is building a few acoustics then build a sweet Tele, a Kdubkaster if you will ;)
I'm sure I will have a better name and a slick and classic look and feel. I just hope I can make it move you with it's tone.
So that is all I know about Lovell Guitars anyone know anything I don't on this matter? I wish they were still around making quality guitars for extremely affordable prices. That is something a lot of mass produced guitar companies need to take an example from.

Who has more or current information about Lovell Guitars?
