Another Strat-o-tele (or Tele-strat)

Check out this listing of a Custom Shop "Tennessee Strat" at the Zoo (no affiliation).

I've seen Teles get Strat contours and Strat headstocks -- which I actually like.

But this may be the first time I've seen an actual Tele pickguard/switch/bridge plate/bridge pickup on a Strat body (hardtail, natch):

Not too sure about the transparent orange, though...

What a beaut. I was wanting to make a bunch of hybrids and this inspires me more.

And I agree with the butterscotch. Slightly relic'd.

You guys are spot on with the butterscotch finish, I don't know why that didn't occur to me with the TDPRI logo right at the top of the page.

The more I look at that, the more it cries out for a humbucker in place of the Strat pup in the neck...

Yes, most Tele/Strat hybrids are almost all strat, rarely do you see Tele pickups and controls.

A drill. Be smarter than the guitar. I wanna put a tele bridge or 72 ri bridge humbucker in mine soon, already routed out and put in the tele neck in between the strat neck n mid pickup.

There's another one just like it right now at the Zoo, but in natural (it's also called a "Nashville Strat").

I've decided I like the orange much better. Add a lipstick pickup for the neck (or a 'bucker) and we're in business!

I'll be interested to see how long this one lasts...

I have a maple Fender Blacktop strat neck on its way to me .I may well get a custom strat body routed for a tele set up .Sounds like an ideal combo to me .The strat is far better usable shape for me as it throws the guitar forward on its strap which for me is handy .MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.Thanks for posting the pics .I can send it to the guy who may make the body and it will help him picture it .

My squire strat is probably headed for this. Probably gonna have to be a solid color because I think there is going to need to be some wood filled in
