cry baby's got me in tears

this is a strat question indirectly because many of us use this fantastic tone rippin wonder
i have had a 535 BB cry baby for years now
it has gotten way too scratchy to be useable on anything other than highly dist solos.... its is so bad i have opted to pull it out of my pedal board and am using an emulation from a digitech rp80 which isnt really all that bad but its a pretty flimsy piece of plastic gear, all said...
so i have done the wd40 thing to death ...

do they sell these pots as replacements anywhere ?
are they cheap?
will that work?
also something else i never noticed before was the tone selector popped like crazy the other day too ! i can't afford another cry baby and i have always known they are not an inherintnly clean pedal but a lil wd 40 before i record always cleaned thing up, did i finally drown this thing?.... any sggestions?

a hot potz is the only replacement...it is made and sold by dunlop but it is better than the original because it is sealed meaning NO MORE WD40!!! It really is the only way to go!!! I've got them in all my crybaby's

Try this!!! I fond some on ebay for $8.99 plus shipping...it will still be cheaper than a Store, they run between 20 and 30 dollars! It is worth every penny.

That ebay offering was so cheap that I had to compare this new in the package Dunlop ECB 24B part with it. The ebay offering has a number of CH00222 whereas the Dunlop part I have here reads EH90060. The part I have here has a white bottom and the ebay piece shows a red. These differences may not amount to anything. Maybe the ebay part is of Chinese manufacture? The one I have here (and have had in stock for some years) was manufactured in Mexico. Let me know if you get one of those and it works well. This one I have here cost me about $13.50 at dealer's cost.

Wally,

I looked at the pots in my crybabys, and they match the one you described...I love the sound of these. the ones on ebay are a little different, I don't know about the sound though. Thanks for noticing that!

i was so happy last night... took all of ten minutes to re-solder it in place and did I say wow yet?
it sounded so good i had to go back fo rmore cables so it could stay in the chain again where it belongs (and the lil digitech is back where it belongs too)
THANKS AGAIN
