Is it real? Or Chinese takeout?

I've been considering this instrument but for some reason red flags won't stop waving.

If nothing else, everything looks too perfect for a 15 year old guitar.

Looks like an American Deluxe to me. But I'm certainly not a strat expert. The only thing I consider on guitars that look unplayed is whether maybe they just never sounded good enough in the first place and therefore were kept "in a case under the bed." I bet it's a legitimate guitar.

For some reason the end of the headstock looks really large to me. Is this normal on some of the Strats?

I think it's just camera angle. This thing looks a lot like my 2000 strat.

The only thing that is suspect to me is the "frets have little wear" statement -- to me, they look worn/dipped, but I can't really be sure about this from the low res photos.

Why? I thought all 2 post bridges were on deluxes.

update: I guess it must be because the American Deluxe series wasn't available until 1998.

That thing looked heavy until I read the weight. It was still heavy.
