Statocaster Finish Question

Just saw a BEAUTIFUL MIM Stratocaster and I must have it. I've had a look around on the net and can't find it/the name of the finish. Has anyone seen it before and if so, do you know the correct name of the finish?

It looks like gun metal blue. It's a satin finish MIM Standard. They made one in red, midnight blue (purple), midnight wine, and gun metal blue. If it has a 60th anniversary button on the backside of the head stock it has medium jumbo frets and a bigger tremolo block. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/p...tar?sku=517908

Looks like ice blue metallic to me.

I don't think so. Ice blue metallic is lighter and having had a satin gun metal blue strat, it does have some ice blue metallic characteristics in the right light, which is visible around the arm contour but if you look at the horns, this strat much darker.

You are probably right. That light hitting the contour of the body on the lower left throws me. In any case, it sure looks nice.

And those are some fine looking Strats you have sitting there.

Thanks. I sold the blue one about a year ago. After I got the CP50, I just didn't play the blue one, which is just a MIM Standard with a satin finish. MF was blowing them out a couple of years ago. It was a good first Strat.

Thanks EB, definately the Gun Metal Blue. Unfortunately discontinued at Musicians Friend but Ill keep and eye out on ebay ;)
