Stratocaster XII
Hello,
Anyone out there have a Stratocaster XII? If so, do you have any opinions on it?

Had one. My thoughts:
Terrible electronics. Worst. Bridge. Ever. Cramped string spacing (but still better than the Ricky 12). Awful string retainer behind the nut, always made tuning difficult, and made it impossible to keep in tune. Short (24 3/4") scale prevented the "Strat" from sounding like a Strat. Fender Japan has a new 12 string Strat model that looks great, and fixes all of the above issues. I'd look for one of the new ones.

I have a late 80's MIJ one...
....and I kind of like it. The pu's sound a little thin, but ok in my opinion.
I agree with Lyle that stringing it is a pain, but once its in tune, it stays pretty well. I usually only use it for open chords and don't really hammer on it though. I got it in a trade from a friend of mine for a blown V4 head that I got for essentially nothing, so its hard for me to be too critical because I didn't shell out big $$ for it. Fish |

look for a Squier 12-string
A buddy of mine got one of the Japanese Squier 12-strings with the split pickups in it. That thing is soooo cool. It is much nicer than the current crop of Strat 12-strings. It plays amazing.
