Here is my 1980 Stratocaster that I bought in '81, I really wish I would have bought the white '68 that I was looking at back then too..... ;)

I've got two, but only decent pictures of one uploaded at present. Here's my Oly White '62 Hot Rod:

I never liked the white/rosewood combo, and would not have given this guitar a second look if it had not been pointed out to me by the salesguy. I'm glad he did, as it's one of the finest strats I've ever played. Absolutely stunning guitar, and the color is growing on me. My favorite Rosewood color combos are Inca Silver and Lake Placid Blue.

Even though I like playing on maple better than rosewood,I gotta say there's something REALLY classy about the look of a rosewood board....seems like with just about any solid color and rosewood you get an early '60s thing going.

Yes
Rosewood = classy
Maple = common

My tele is one of the few maple necks I own. Everything else including my strats are rosewood and its hard to move away from it. Maple you clean the fretboard. Rosewood you clean then feed the fretboard which takes more work.

I think they have more character but not really from a visible wear perspective. Some people go for that worn maple look - but I like the "looks better than new" wet rosewood look.

You also can pick up rosewood necked guitars at bargain prices from people who have no idea how to get/keep them clean.

Early 90's LPB MIM that I sold earlier this year. I had a early 90's MIJ back in the day I still regret selling!
