Serial number ?
My Strat has a N3 serial number decal on the headstock indicating 1993 . The neck is stamped April 28 , 1994 . I can understand how the opposite could happen . Is the neck stamped after finishing at the time of assembly ? Do I have a '93 or '94 . Do I have both ? It doesn't really matter to me , I am just curious . I am putting my Cherry Tele neck on it regardless . All I need are the tuning machines that are on the way .

There is overlap in a factory.
They might make 200 necks around the end of 93 and decal them with a 93 decal but not actually use them until sometime in 94.

Yeah even on their website Fender says an n3 could be '93-'94 and so on. I always liked to think they still do things the way Leo did (use everything/throw nothing away) and so they use up the last of the '93 serial number decals into '94 before printing new ones hehe, but I'd say Mark has the correct answer.
