Yamaha Pacifica 112...?
Any opinions... any love... anybody have one? I just picked up a lefty Yamaha Pacifica 112 today on fleabay for $59.95. I have been having bad strat GAS lately but unfortunately I'm out of work and low on funds. So a copy will have to due for now.
It seems like to me I got a good deal as long as the neck/frets are in good shape. Like the Rondo SX's this guitar may be a great one with some new electronics, tuners and pickups. Should be at the house in about a week... |

The Pacifica is one of the most underrated lower-cost guitars available. This is a VERY nice one IMO. Love the natural look.
I believe you will love this axe. As for the pickups, you're going to love them as well. Just wait. J

We have one of those EXACT Pacifica 112 guitars in our shop as our test guitar. Gotta tell you that it is a first-rate guitar. There is room for improvement with the pickups are possibly the tremolo (it's the same cheap Sung Il tremolo used on many low-end Fender and Squier Strats), but the body and neck are first-rate. We've beaten the piss out of the thing over the years and it still plays great. I want one myself!

Thanks for the reply's. Especially since they were positive. I will post a review when it gets here.
jrfrond... any idea if that Sung Il tremolo bridge can be replaced by like a Callam import (MIM) bridge. Or any other upgraded bridge without intensive mods? |

There isn't much, other than the pickguard, that cannot be upgraded with standard Strat parts on the Pacifica 112. There's one on eBay right now with a maple fingerboard that I am dying to pull the trigger on. They really are nice guitars.

I own and love several Yamaha electrics, I think they make fabulous feeling necks at any price point, the ones I see like yours have 2 piece necks joined below the headstock, around the 3rd or 5th fret, but it doesn`t matter...I love all the Yamahas I`ve played.
