Fact is these are just the most versatile guitars. It's crazy.

You can't define the strat sound, as there are so many. Every day when I sit down to practice, I am discovering new nuances and sounds I can make. The only thing limiting the amount of sounds I can make is my hands and my curiosity.

Thanks Leo.

When I think Strat tones, Jimi, Landau, Allan Hanyes, Kirk Fletcher. And I can't believe no one has mentioned Ronnie Earl yet.

jh and srv cbc broadcast look@t lil sister

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=335_1237757926&c=1

Produced by Joe Bodolai. This amazing performance is from the Gemini award-winning series IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N ROLL! (which also starred Mike Myers) on CBC in Canada. We invited Stevie Ray to appear and then introduced him to Jeff. Stevie was blown away and offered to perform with him. It was Jeff's first TV appearance. These late guitar virtuosos are missed, but this performance lives forever

Not only does Mark Knopfler get my top vote as #1 Strat tone he also gets my #1 vote for LP tone!

Well, maybe Gilmour gets my top vote for Strat, so make Mark #1A in my book.

hendrix i suppose, but i'm not a marshall fan..
gilmour i guess too, and while i love him and his playing and everything he did for music, i'd have to say he never had a whole lot of "strat" in his tone. i hear more effects than anything else.
SRV, yes.
and....

John Mayer. I'm sorry but I like his tone, and the scooped mids on his pups sound great.
