Vintage Players 60's Strat pickup and tuner questions

I bought this guitar about two years ago at a great discount (giant chip in the paint at bottom of body. I recently put Lollar Blackface pickups in it and man do I love this guitar. I'm wanting to sell the stock pickups and I wanted to know for sure what kind they are. I'm thinking Texas Specials, but I'm not positive. Here are the resistance readings Neck: 6.2ohms Middle: 6.5ohms Bridge: 7.6 ohms. I was also wondering if anyone has seen tuners like this before? It has a Fender special edition decal on the back of the headstock as well. Thanks!

Nice looking Strat! Special edition made in 2003. Rumor is that only 250 were made. I used to have one just like it, but sold back in 2006. I loved the stock American Vintage bridge and the neck and frets were PERFECT. The pickups weren't Stratty enough for me so I sold it instead of changing pickups like you did. Smart move!

Anyways, yes the pickups are deifinately Texas Specials. This is info straight from Fender when I had the guitar. And I remember the specs clearly on Musician's Friend when I was GASing for this guitar.

What exactly is your question about the tuners? Are you wondering about how they decrease in height from low E to high E? The tuners are vintage style, but staggered in height like the new American Standards/Series, a modern convenience for tuning stability. The Eric Johnson Strats use these vintage staggered tuners too, but without a string tree.

Hey thanks for the quick answers guys! Sweet looking Strat there BritishBluesBoy! Yeah, my question about the tuners was just what kind they were, I had never seen them like that before. Anyway, I'm off to practice more Sultans of Swing.....full of tasteful fills and many many verses lol =)
