Strat Comes Home. One question though..

Who is Eli?

What we have here boys and girls is a 60's custom shop strat one off: custom 2 tone burst and maple board on a subtle v-neck (allegedly a 10/56, but I'm trying to confirm that). Anyway, she's my new pride and joy.

Now, when I popped the hatch to add a couple of springs (I like 'em more or less hard tailed), I noticed the letters ELI stamped in the wood. Any idea what that's all about?

Seriously? FWIW, that would be appropriate: it is a closet classic finish

FI there is no "r" or "c"...I would imagine someone stamped their name into the wood.

Post more pix of ELI when you have time? Perhaps he worked on Fender necks at the factory-back in the day?

The first person singular suffix has a long e sound in hebrew (as in green).
