first project guitar done!!!!!!!

brought it all together last night, and it sound...great! -

warmoth 3 lb. 13 oz. one-piece alder body.
used esp rosewood strat neck.
all callaham hardware.
fralin vintage hots on an acme-wired pickguard.
tone kit and blender pot.
reranch aerosol nitro paint job (iffy job - will redo someday).
dan erlwine's books.
lots of tips from maine maestro jim katsiaficas. (thanks jim! and the tele's almost done, too!)

makes my american standard sound like...uh...an american standard. jumps right out of my hands! in fact - where is that thing? gotta get back to it - them silky strings are callin' my name!...

...yes, it's a great feeling. sooner or later i'll get a picture of it and see if i can figure out how to post it.

and yes, i'm addicted. have a tele almost done - actually, it's arguably finished, but it hums too much (doesn't know the words?) so i'm going to unsolder everything, put in shielding, and try vintage-style wire.

and the beat goes on...

Congratulation, Charlie! I built my first one a few years back and its still my #1 grab and go ax. You've got some premium components on your instrument, no doubt the tone is there. And don't worry about the finish, just play that thing till it wears off, the Custom Shop charges extra for that you know. Dave
