Vintage Style Strat Tremolo
I'm building a strat and I have been researching parts. I've been looking at tremolos for the build and was wondering which is a good brand. The only two I've looked at is the Fender original vintage and the Callaham. I know the callaham bridge is a gooden but is it that much better than the fender tremolo unit? Should I bite the bullet and go with the pricey Callaham($130) or stick with the Fender original ($75)?
Thank You for your help, Kyle |

If you are an infrequent user of the Trem, The USA Steel block Fender should be just fine. But if you do use one a bit, I would go the extra bucks for the Callaham, they truly are better engineered IMO.

I for one think the Callaham is worth the difference in price. But if you handed me a guitar with the Fender trem I would play it just the same. I say if you've got the money go for it. If you need the money somewhere else get the Fender. I won't matter all that much in the end. But again, I do use the Callahams. So maybe it just matters to me.

Thank you for your input. I already have a tele bridge from callaham and its rock solid. I can probably expect the same from their strat bridge as well. I think I'm gonna go for the Callaham.
