Value of '85 MIJ Strat - modified?

My buddy is selling an old '85 Strat out of his shop. It's a Japan strat. . . which I know are becoming more and more popular these days. My only beef with it is that it's not 100% original. . . which may not be a bad thing as it has an Evans pickup configuration (which are no longer made) including a bridge humbucker setup (which from the looks of the pickguard could have been original, as a lot of these guitars were routed for them in the mid 80's regardless). . . and the locking nut was also removed from the piece during the 80's.

It's sat in the back of his store for the past 15 years getting some mojo, and is a real fine piece.

Can someone give me an approximate value on this guitar? I wanna buy it but he may or may not be asking too much, and I'm not really familiar with the MIJ strats.

Thanks in advance! Pic included: (it could certainly use a cleaning)

looks like one of the ones with the super flat radius as well- I believe 12". E serial MIJ Contemporary Series. Also appears to be a basswood body (more common but less desirable than MIJ ash or alder).

These are not the 80's mij guitars that are very desirable (people want the ones with vintage bridges, SSS, 7.25 or 9.5 radius).

I'd say $400-$450 is a fair price. Over $500 is too high, under $400 is a good deal. Other people may disagree, but that is my opinion with my money.
