Overweight Classic Player 60s Strat?

Just curious, does anyone have (or seen) a Classic Player 60s Strat over 8 pounds in weight? The Classic Player 60s I tried in the shop seemed really heavy in hand, and an accurate scale put the weight at 8.38 pounds. The New American Standard was only 7.26 pounds in comparison...

I played a few of the CP 60s Strats and own one. None of the ones I tried were heavy, and the one I own is 7.5 lbs (at least that is what I was told by the guy who sold it to me used). It feels to me like he was about right.

That doesn't seem unusually heavy for a Strat...and a question to all, why do you all do the 1/10 of pounds thing, instead of ounces ?...what scales read that way ?

The first part is a good question. Digital scales read that way.

Interesting. The small digital scale at the local laundromat indicates tenths, as do the larger digital scales that I have used. I used to wrestle and have weighed in on lots of digital scales that indicated tenths. Perhaps some indicated ounces, but I do not remember that.

Anything under 9 pounds is still fine.

Don't forget, the tremolo block weighs a good bit, just by itself. I've got one that weighs 11 ounces.
