Hardtail Bridge string hole spacings..

Got a hardtail HH partscaster with 2 3/16 (56mm) hole spacing.

Unfortunately limits bridge and pickup changes as a lot of stuff is now narrower (e.g. 52.5mm bridges, 50mm pole spaced humbuckers)

Is there anyway I can retrofit a narrow spaced bridge to the existing hole spacing? Can I make the string holes in the body wider to compensate?

Appreciate the sage advice of those more experienced...

Cheers
John

I haven't seen that many good narrow spaced bridges, most I found were of the cheap variety. And when it comes to pickups F-spaced or Trem-spaced pickups are out there.
My Strat doesn't have a F-spaced 'bucker in it right now, and I can't tell if there are any adverse effects or not. Just that the E strings are on the outside side of the magnets.

Sorry that I can't help you out more, just telling you what I know now.
