I really really can't wait until this relic fad goes away. It's just as bad as the blue jean biz with pre-distressed pantwear and holes and frayed everything.

I can honestly appreciate and actually like a well played instrument. But if you have to bring in sand paper, well count me out.

besides, i would loove to see a guitar with a poly finish that has been worn down to the wood (yeah right)

People often mistake a relic job for "dragging it behind your car for 20 blocks". Relicing is an art, best left to the pros.

I dont think he is trying to flog it as a proper custom shop relic, qoute the add,

"No issues other than a crapy relic job", "If you email me about this guitar please note "relic"

But i'll agree.. It's pretty shocking.. Looks like he was going for the SRV vibe but his beltsander got the better of him.

Relic a guitar is a sign of a sik mind.
I have a Strat Copy that is more than 24 years old. The guy who owned the guitar before plays it the hole time. It was his only guitar. I have the guitar now for 5 years and I love to play it. But believe me, it only have some scratches from the plek and on the back some scratches from the belt. I think, I have to play the guitar for 124 years, maybe than the guitar looks like this.

Not as bad as some out there, but for $275 it's not a bad deal. Buy and refinish.

First thing that came to my mind, as well.
