How rare is this?

An 01 Squier, double fat strat, stock flat black body, gloss black pick guard and matching head stock? Mint too. I guess the next question should be is how good were these also. thanks

When it arrives, how about a pic or two? Not familiar with this model, but would like to see it nevertheless.

I think I remember these from when I was buying my first guitar - if it's the model I'm thinking of then I don't think they're particularly rare, but they look cool.

I've done a bit of investigating and near as I can find what makes it kind of rare for a Squire is the solid alder body, the twin duncan designed humbuckers, and the color and matching head stock. IT is a stock flat black color with gloss black pick guard. Its' not that the duncan design is anything new it is that it is a double fat strat config. It is Indonesian made and uses from what I am told the American tail piece and style of tremolo. It is heavy too at about 8 lbs. Skunk neck with rosewood. 70's style machine head which I like. Maybe I can copy a pic of it to post here I'll give it a shot. thanks

Yep - that's what I was thinking of.

They aren't rare, just not produced anymore.

I don't think they have any collector's value whatsoever - but like I said, they look cool.

Congrats on the new guitar.

Yep I realize that it really isn't a collectors item, when I say rare I am referring to the fact that it is a DFS with an alder body. I belive it is a 2 piece body from what I have been able to gleen on line and not a one piece if that makes any difference. Found some stuff on line about it and it seemed to be a hit or miss type of thing with this variation. It seemed the Indonesian made were 2 piece alder bodies and the Chineese were basswood or agathis. This is the full size thickness too not the thinner body. Full size nut width too and the standard scale and not the shorter scale. Some folks liked the sound of the humbuckers and some didn't. I just liked the looks of the guitar enough to use the buy it now function. Came with a deluxe case too.

I just upgraded or put in shall we say a HSS config. in my strat today. Pups from mitey mite and have to say they sound absolutey wonderful. The humbucker is excellant with a heavy twang. Now I just have to figure out how to make it tone adjustable. These pups are loud but with excellant articulation depending on what I have my tone set at. Well thats it. thanks

It's an attractive looking axe - like that flat black finish!
