Jerry Donahue Strat?
![]() Someone please tell me more about this. I've seen pictures, I've heard it on Youtube, but I am dying to know more about this guitar. It sounds like a strat/tele blend. Anyone know anything about these guitars? Would love to find one someday in this blueburst

I heard that it may even have a plate under the guard around the bridge pickup to simulate a tele sound as JD likes tele bridge and strat neck sounds, great by all accounts, looks sharp too. Bridge pickup is also further away from bridge

Chrismo, Did you ever find what you wanted to know about the JD Strat. If not let me know as I own one.
Here is some info from Fender: http://www.fender.com/support/manual...aster_1997.pdf His manual came with the guitar to explain all of its features. Something different for sure. Chuck |

Hi!
I own this one too since 2 mounths. Look in the Photos section of this site, under Stratocaster category. I recently uploaded the wiring diagram and the "How it works" page from it's Owner Manual. I'm not a guitar player, I play bass. I bought it for my daughter who loves blue finished guitars. Since she is not an advanced player, I had it tested by a friend of mine who is a professionnal blues guitarist generally using USA Strats, Teles and Les Paul. Good variety of sounds ( 8 different PU tones configurations ) but not very much natural sustain he said. I think it is consistant with the "designer", Jerry Donahue, who is more into country style fast picking type of playing. There is also a Demo of the same model posted by a guy called Forsman on YouTube. Good quality 1997 Japan made instrument as far as I'm concerned. I personnaly play with a 2006 USA Fender Jazz Bass 60th anniversary Special Edition. In the late '60s I was playing with a 1964 Jazz Bass 3 tone Sunburst sold in 1971 when I left a local Blues band to go back to studies. |
