What do you think about this custom made Ultra?
Just curious:
If you forget his hype, and the price (this is his second attempt, at least). Would this be a cool guitar? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=38082 I must admit I like the looks of it. Don't think I have seen a genuine Fender one, so I don't know how different this would be... Geir :) |

Yeesh! That's awful text, even for ebay! Gimme a break! I own a '96 Strat Ultra, and I'm not sure his any better (it's a terrific guitar, BTW). Anywho, I think the price is bad, especially since it's not genuine Fender (though that's not always a bad thing). I'm sure it's a cool guitar too, but flatwounds????????? That just doesn't jive with me. Only guys I knew who did that were studying jazz and had a strat as their ONLY guitar, so they wanted more of a "12 pillows-in-front-of-the-speaker" sound, like their favorite L5's. OK, all that aside, it does look very original, and not half bad, but not for me. The only thing(s) that make it an "ultra" are the twin pickups at the bridge... Find a used Ultra for cheaper, and I'm sure you'd love the ebony fingerboard.
