Fret wire size on MIM standards

The Fender catalog says that the MIM standards use "vintage" frets. They say the same thing about the "Classic 50's & 60's" Strats. Does this mean that they really use the same size frets on the MIM standard - but on a 9.5 radius neck instead of the 7.25?

I don't know a lot about fret wire, but I do know that I do not like the feel of the medium-jumbo that most of the modern guitars come with. All the Squiers seem to have those big frets, so maybe what I really need to try is a MIM standard?

Yes, it's the same size as on the Standards.

All I know is they all wear. My AmSer Tele, is a year old and show as much wear as my 3-year-old MiM standard Strat...

Sort of disappointing. I guess I just play too much and press on the strings too hard...
