GODLYKE Power-All Digital Power Supply - Opinions?
G'Day. I came across this inexpensive pedal power supply system during a recent net search. They claim no noise/60 cycle hum, ability to use a variety of input voltages, no transformer etc. It looks attractive. What's the catch? What are the deficiencies? Why haven't I heard about these before? If you know about or use this system please let me know. Check out their website for more info. (www.godlyke.com).
I have no affiliation. This is not a "back door" ad. I just am curious. Regards - bj |

another similar product
is the Visual Sounds ( H20 chorus/delay, Jeckell and Hyde od/distortion) One Spot.
Smaller size only takes up one AC outlet space, will power multiple pedals,etc... I haven't tried either one but both sound like good products, just new technology I assume. Which is a good thing..... |

It's an outstanding product...
I have had nothing but good luck with mine. It is, as far as I can tell, an outstanding power supply. It has a lot of power (multiples of the Boss PSA120) and has adapters for lots of pedals. Basically, it can power anything that works off 9v regardless of polarity. It even has adapters for 9v batteries. It works with a broad range of voltages and frequencies (of AC). I think it's great and I've used mine now for the better part of a year.

I have the ONE SPOT which is very similar (in fact VS claims that Goodlyke copied their design). It works fine powering 15 9v pedals in my pb w/ absolutely no hum.I guess that the Goodlyke will be performing the same (although 60 cycle hum is caused by single coil pups and there is absolutely no remedy for that no metter what Goddlyke says).
All in all get one! |

Actually 60-Hz (or 50-Hz for those of us in Europe) is picked up through the power lines, though we typically hear the 2nd harmonic (120 Hz) through our amplifiers. Noise from pick-ups is largely in the RF (radio-frequency) band which is MUCH higher frequency and is largely heard as hiss or white noise.
