Electro Harmonix LPB 1 reissue

hi there, I need a boost pedal and saw that the new EHX LPB 1 model is a good price and seems to be well made. Does anyone have any advice on this pedal? I've read that it is mostly used to overdrive an amp but will it give a moderate clean boost? I need enough to boost the single coils on my tele up to the same volume as the humbuckers on my 335 but would also like the option of pummeling the front end of the amp with gain to make it break up.

any opinions, comments, or problems would be appreciated.

thanks!

The only thing to be wary about with some of those new EH Nano pedals is that some of them are not compatible with multi-pedal power sources due to the plug being positive on the center instead of negative, or I might have it backwards, but anyways, just keep that in mind as well...

The LPB1 does use a center negative power plug, but it doesn't have any filtering; so unless your power supply is properly filtered, you'll get way too much noise.

i have an original LPB-1 (and possibly a 2 somewhere) it wasn't a stomp box. it plugged into the amp (the 2 plugged into the guitar) has 1 pot, 1 toggle switch (acrually a slide switch) and ate 9v batteries like M&Ms and munchies

I haven't played the LPB-1, but I think MXR Micro Amp might be up your alley. It works wonderfully with my single coil guitars(tele, strat, jazzmaster), gives it a good clean punch with some dirt once you go past 12 o'clock. I also own a DOD Juice Box, which is also a great pedal for boosting. Hope this helps.

I have the new LPB-1 - it works great, no issues. It's built like a tank!

I got a Nano LPB-1 for that very reason: the Fralins in my Tele sound great but they needed more gain to overdrive. I have it before the TS9, going into a Princeton Reverb II, and it sounds amazing. It makes the Tele sing when I want that sound. It uses the same Ibanez & Boss power supplies that I have used for years. It is quiet, but I only had it boosted about 1/3 of its potential; it's all it needed.
