Has anyone tried the new Behringer dynamics compressor?

Hey everyone, I saw the new Behringer Dynamic Compressor on eBay for a good price and was wondering if anyone has tried this particular model (the one in the bigger black housing, looks a bit like a black dynacomp) seems like a good deal but i don't want to waste any money on a piece of junk. Your opinions would mean the world.

thanks!

Considering that Behringer generally rips off other companies designs (as in actually reverse-engineering them) and then has them built in sweatshops in Asia, I prefer to buy other companies products!

Even if I didn't have ethical problems with them, their stuff is often pretty junky...

I agree with Tim on this one, Behringer products are cheap for a reason.

Cheers

Ok I'm not going to defend their use of sweatshops or anything but I have the Tubescreamer clone which is absolutely fantastic for the price I payed, as is their standard tube overdrive. If your not going to really stamp on them they're pretty sturdy too.

I havent tried the compressor though, but you have probably read its very similar to The Boss CS3.

I have actually removed all the behringers from my pedal board though for the simple reason that the power supply plugs in from the side which makes it awkward for me to use.

Hope that helps,

Alex

I don't own any of their pedals nor do I know anything about their products other than the fact That I bought their 12 pedal hard case pedal board complete with daisychain, power supply, and 12 patch cables new as a package at my local music store the other day for less than $100.00. I hadn't really given much thought about them other than I think their stuff looks kinda junky compared to most stuff other companies offer. You get what you pay for most times, just like tools, music stuff holds true to this as well.

Best wishes

Jeffro

I have a lot of Behringer products and I don't have a problem with them at all. I absolutely love all 3 of my amps , even though I have a Marshall stack and a Peavey Classic 30 ( I have a Behringer Vintager AC112 that I have used almost every Sunday for 4 years! Great lil amp!)......As for their pedals, I only have an EQ of theirs...it works fine. Their mics are great too.....as are their mixers ...

Sweat shops?? hmmmm....So GFS?? Squier ?? Epiphone?? Are they built in sweat shops too??

Reverse-engineering.... so that makes the Keeley Compressor a bad thing??? It is a Ross clone with a few Hi Fi mods!!!

I use Behringer stuff on the output side in my studio. Not the best, but at the price, it's OK. Input side, I stay away as the noise level is a bit high for my tastes. YMMV

But that's an expensive knockoff vs. a cheap knockoff. Apples and oranges.

True..... But I was refering to the "ripoff" thing......And lets not forget all the overdrives out there with the ripped off Tube Screamer basic design. Some times I want good value not cutting edge.

I have some of their products and they are not worst some than other brands. Not as good as Boss, but not the same price.

The Ultra-G DI box is superb, and the MIC-200 tube preamp sounds good. The yellow EQ box is noisy, but I use it just for some tests.

I can't say about the compressor because I have a Boss CS-3

I had a handful of those Behringer pedals when they first came out. They were crap - plain and simple. Well, unless you like hiss and cheap plastic junk.

Well...I got mine today...IT'S CRAP !!!

The housing is thin metal, the circuit board is tiny and tone...well, there ain't any...it thins out my tele, kills the bottom and their is a strange resonance that follows the notes...did I mention it's crap ?!...I guess I'm done dropping money on too good too be true gear. (Although the warehouse speaker V30 clone I got for $35 new is KILLER).

Again...this is a toy folks....ymmv (but I doubt it)

It's already back on ebay

Sure it had a similar approach to the dyna comp, but it took all the soul and warmth from the guitars. It's the first comp I've heard that neuters an OD pedal...killed my Keeley BD2.
