Ibanez Analog Delay RI

So... I have a bunch of digital delay units- around 10 or so if you include the multi fx boxes.
Everything from DD3's right through to Lexicon MPXG2, Echo Pro and such.

I've been suffering from digital overload with it all and was wondering what to do about it.
On a whim I picked up the Ibanez Analog Delay Reissue.

This is a tasty little box- it doesn't loop or do tap tempo or run in stero or anything else that the other boxes do but I think I like it more- well at least at the moment.

I do wish I could adjust the dry wet balance rather than just the efect level but then maybe the limitations of the box allow me to shut off the brain and just play.

I've been jamming on Danny Gatton riffs all night and a bit of rockabilly- really lovely warm sounding pedal, no level issues when switching the pedal in and out (unlike some of the Line 6 stuff). It's cool.

Just the guitar, a modded Dynacomp and my '62 bassman head for me tonight and I'm one happy guy.

I think everything else is coming off the pedalboard for a while.

Any other users out there?

AD9

Take off the battery cover, unscrew the back plate a bit and lift it up, and you'll find two unmarked adjustable controls for delay level and time: little white circles with a flat screwdriver sized holes. Twist and shout.

Try to remember the factory setting in case you don't like your mods: it's easy to overdo it.

Wow... thanks for that.

I've left the level alone and extended delay time to maximum.
Sounds like 400-500ms to me now... ?

Re-set

Did you happen to note the factory settings?

I've screwed around with mine and can't remember where they were set!

Ehrm, I didn't really. I just turned the delay time to full and left the levl alone- which on mine is set to 6 oclock if you look at the pedal upside down (ie with the batter compartment facing you.)

Xmas Morning

Pathetically, I'm more like a kid on Xmas morning than a prudent technician when I open up a pedal!

I bought my AD9 new in 1982 and it cost almost as much as the re-issue sells for now!

It's a great sounding pedal.

Just a little note on the AD-9, while I have no plans to get rid of mine, I am on the lookout for another analog unit that doesn't roll off so much of my highs.

I'm also debating just sending mine to Keeley Electronics to get it modded.

I just got one of the Analogman Analog Delay pedals and it is a GREAT unit. I highly recommend getting one if your looking for another analog delay. The tone is very clear and I don't think you'll have any problems with high end loss with this unit.

At around $150 it is a good deal. The bypass tone on these is great for a non-true bypass pedal, too.
