I'm using one at the moment. While I like the sound, I've thought about "downsizing" my pedals some more...trading it and my Crybaby for a Morley Wah/Distortion/Volume pedal. Either that or getting my DS1 and Crybaby "Keeley-ed"...

A DS-1 was my first distortion. Then I got a Digitech distortion modeler, but I mostly use the DS-1 setting. It's a great rhythm sound if you dial it up right. I've been looking into something like the Radial Trimode (tube-driven, seperate rhythm and lead channels), but I'll most likely have it set close to a DS-1-type sound, tweaked to my needs.

i used one for years then tried a few other distortion boxes. 10 months ago i went back to it! it may not be the absolut best sounding box in the world but it sure ain't bad and it's NEVER crapped out on me!

I use a Keeley modified DS-1 regularly, but not often. Seems that I need it about once every two months, for a specific song. Stay on my board for about two weeks, then I think I can do thing better another way. Then it is off for about 4 weeks, then back on. Good sound, never craps out. And for just that certian distortion, invaluable.

I got rid of mine about 3 months after I got it. I didn't like it at all. I like having separate bass/treble controls to dial in my tone. I will say though that I had only been playing for about 6 months when I got it so it may have been the fact I was a novice.

I had the DS-1 for a year or so then tried the DS-2..IMHO the DS-2 is a much better sounding pedal...the Remote is also a cool feature.
