New MXR Variphase?

http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?p...p_and_e_detail

I came across this- seems ideal for my needs for a phaser. Plus it looks like sex.

Anyone tried one yet?

Thanks.

Check the user reviews at Musicians Friend. Some folks were saying you had to keep your foot on the pedal to get the phasing effect and that it turned off on its own when you removed your foot.

Then another guy says that it is adjustable.

You may want to try before you buy.

I love the idea though.

It would suck a bit if you had to keep your foot on. And for the money, you might as well fit the foot adjustment style knob to a standard Phase 90.

I'd bet that you do have to keep your foot on it to keep it in operation...

Look....there is not a button there at the toe-point. No way to click it on and off. So I'd bet that it is activated when you step on it....and then turns off when you step off.

Just like a Morley Bad Horsie Wah.

I'd bet that one of those adjustment knobs on the side is for Depth, and the other is for how quick it turns off when you step off of it....just like the Bad Horsie.

I noticed that- one of the Crybaby's has the same system. Think it's the 95Q

Variphase Answers!

I have contacted Dunlop directly and received the following information:

Regarding whether or not the variphase is based upon Script Phase 90 vs Block Phase 90:
It actually has an internal mini switch that allows the user to toggle between the two types of Phases. The left position is for the Script setting, while the righth position is for the Block setting.

Regarding whether or not the pedal stays in position when you take your foot of or whether it returns home:
This is an auto-return device, when you take your foot off the pedal the unit returns to the "home" position...there is no stomp switch
I personally would have liked to see is maintain position rather than return home...I'll probably buy it anyway though
