whats the difference between the Dunlop FuzzFace and the new '07 one?

Can anyone explain?
Ive read the new one is just like one from the Hendrix era... but i thought the FuzzFace was a Hendrix era pedal.

Components.

I don't know enough about it to give you a more accurate description than that. Actually, I've seen this thread title a few times and noticed that you never got any direction about it, so I decided to add what I could, which isn't much.

I think I saw a review or introduction regarding them during NAMM '07, it might have been the typical gear intro from Harmony Central. ?? The guy that Dunlop had to spec this version out comes highly regarded (don't know his name) in boutique effects circles. What I got from a quick skim was that they've sourced more accurate parts, on down to the tagboard, etc...

.

Okay, I must've read two different sites regarding this newer version in January, but I can only find one of the descriptions:>> http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAM...Fuzz-Face.html

Additional info, same but different source:>> http://www.guitarist.co.uk/page/guit...hlights_dunlop

I think I came across some chatter on an effects website but don't recall which one.

A little more.> http://www.gearwire.com/dunlop-hendrix.html

Built to the exact specifications of the Original Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face. Ruggedly constructed to the original Germanium PNP transistor design and vintage specs, it was the classic fuzz box used by Jimi Hendrix and other legendary rockers of the 60's and 70's.
All in all it appears specificity is the major difference. The newer unit houses silicon transistors, while the previous model (reissue) incorporated germanium. You can also see more attention to detail and a different era and version of the FuzzFace style.

Similarly like the differences between Fulltone's '69 & '70 designs.

Jorge Tripps, the man behind Way Huge, works at Dunlop now. He speced out the re issue FF and the Octavia. Supposed to have gotten it all down eaxct, even to the cardboard battery seperator etc.....
